Nights at the Museum

Treat yourself! On Mondays the museum stays open after 5pm. Stop by after work to view Blind Spot–to pass among them by Wisconsin artist Suzanne Rose. Organized by the Museum of Wisconsin Art, this collection of 27 large-scale photographs explores the understated study of human folly and nature's resilience through an aesthetic influenced by pioneer photographers of the nineteenth century. Bring a friend, make a date or take a break - museum admission is always free.

Stories of the Full Moon Around the Campfire

Figure Drawing

A two-hour studio session for artists to reference the human form for their work. Artists 18 years of age and older are welcome to attend. Doors open at 6pm, please come in early to set up, as doors lock and artists begin promptly at 6:30pm. Please bring your own materials. Studio fee is $15 for museum members and $20 drop-in fee per session. Six session punch cards are also available.

Newport Wilderness Days | Day 1

This event at Newport State Park was started in 1992 as a way for the members of Newport Wilderness Society, the park’s official friends group, to showcase their beautiful wilderness park. Volunteers lead hikes and programs Labor Day weekend, covering many areas of interest.
