Ephraim, Wis. (May 6, 2020) – Wisconsin’s Peninsula Music Festival has been a musical Tradition of Distinction in Door County for nearly seven decades; and although this news will come as no surprise, it has now been made official. After much waiting to see how the COVID-19 Pandemic would develop, and hoping that we wouldn’t be required to pivot, the Board of Directors and Executive Director, Christoph Ptack, have concluded that the health and safety of otheir patrons, the organization, and their many artistic constituencies must take precedent over all else at this important moment. It is not lost on them that for the first time in 68 years they will be required to skip a beat, but given the mandates that continue to preclude public gatherings of more than 10 people for the foreseeable future, they have no choice but to by-pass our concerts this August, and focus their sights on the future.
With that, it is Peninsula Music Festival’s great pleasure to announce that the grandeur and excitement surrounding the 2020 Symphony Series will remain intact, as all conductors, guest artists, and répertoire will migrate as-is to frame the 2021 Symphony Series scheduled for August 3-21, 2021. Nothing will be lost, just enjoyed at a later date!
The Festival’s Box Office will be reaching out to all August ticket holders in the near future. This will be your opportunity to select and confirm one of the following options:
- CONVERT tickets to a donation for “PlayON” (PMF Musician Relief Fund), or PMF Annual fund.
- DEFER tickets to 2021 Symphony Series.
- REFUND.
In the event you’d like to contact them to confirm your choice, please email musicfestival@musicfestival.com, or call 920.854.4060 ext. #1, and leave a message for the Box Office. In compliance with federal and state mandates, their offices remain closed until further notice. They are working remotely, and will continue to check voicemail on a daily basis.
To be expected, there will be some disappointment surrounding this difficult but necessary decision. However, you can rest assured that the future is bright with opportunity, and many years of great music lie ahead for Door County, and the Peninsula Music Festival!
Thank you for your patience and support during these extraordinary times.
