Ephraim, Wis. (April 12, 2021) – Wisconsin’s Peninsula Music Festival has been a musical Tradition of Distinction in Door County for nearly seven decades; and although this report may come as no surprise, it has now been made official. Due to many uncertainties concerning the safety and viability of producing the August Series, the Board of Directors and I have concluded that the health and welfare of our patrons and artistic constituencies must continue to take precedent over all else. It goes without saying that everyone at PMF is saddened over having to make this decision for a second time, but we are happy to be able to tell you about our plans for this summer, and beyond.
Fortunately, the excitement surrounding the 2021 Series programming will remain intact, as all 5 conductors, 10 guest artists, and 29 pieces of répertoire will migrate as-is to our 70th season and be presented August 2-20, 2022. Nothing is lost, just enjoyed at a later date!
In its place will be a 3-concert Recital Series featuring distinguished members of the Festival Orchestra at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor. The hour-long string and piano concerts will be presented on the Thursday evenings of August 5, 12, and 19, 2021 at 7:30pm. As with our successful February Series, masks will be required at all times, temperature scans will be taken upon arrival, and seating will be socially distanced allowing for 45 patrons at each event. Tickets will go on sale later next month at www.musicfestival.com: $30 single tickets or a $75 3-concert subscription (available only by phone).
Patrons holding Symphony Series tickets for this August may CONVERT their value to a tax deductible PlayON! donation benefiting PMF’s Musician Relief Fund, OR designate to PMF’s Annual Fund; DEFER the tickets directly to the August 2022 Symphony Series; or request a REFUND. Please email your designation to musicfestival@musicfestival.com, or give our Box Office a call at (920) 854-4060, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
