Sister Bay, Wis. (December 10, 2025) – The Village of Sister Bay is recognizing Village Administrator Julie Schmelzer for her dedicated service and leadership as she prepares to retire on January 2, 2026.
Schmelzer has served the Village since June 1, 2022, with a strong focus on professional management, improved internal operations, and advanced long-range planning efforts. Under her leadership, the organization has navigated key projects, ongoing growth, and day-to-day operations with a steady and solutions-oriented approach.
Village President Nate Bell expressed the Village Board’s appreciation for Schmelzer’s work. “On behalf of the Village Board and the community, I want to thank Julie for her service to Sister Bay,” said Village President Nate Bell. “We are grateful for her commitment and wish her the very best in retirement.”
Schmelzer reflected on her time with Sister Bay. “I’ve met so many wonderful people and together with the Board we accomplished community development projects I am very proud of,” said Schmelzer. “I was honored to help Sister Bay move projects forward that had long been on the books and see some new projects through to fruition.”
