Baileys Harbor, Wis. (April 7, 2025) – For Earth Week 2025, The Ridges Sanctuary will host a series of events and activities to promote environmental awareness and stewardship, including a roadside cleanup, student nature-inspired art, and community conversation. The line-up includes:
Roadside Cleanup, Saturday, April 19, 8:30 am – 11:00 am: Volunteers will help The Ridges keep our surroundings clean and beautiful by properly disposing of collected litter and debris. Great for all ages, families, and groups seeking volunteer hours. Free event, however, please register in advance so that we have an accurate count of attendees. This event is free. Participants will meet at the Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center and conduct the cleanup around The Ridges and down Ridges Road. Participants are asked to register in advance, so we have an accurate count.
2nd Annual Forest School Artist Reception and Celebration, Saturday, April 19, 11 am – noon: Celebrate Earth Day with The Ridges Forest School at the 2nd Annual Earth Day Art Show. Student artworks will be on display at the Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center throughout Earth Week. This event is free. Donations are appreciated!
Roundtable Discussion on Reforestation, Thursday, April 24, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm: Join community experts at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall for a roundtable discussion on reforestation. Learn about the new Boreal & Temperate Forest Climate Survivability project and its impact on Door County’s forests. This event is free. Donations are appreciated!
