Ghosts, witches, zombies- oh my! Watch out for the spooky characters you may come across at the 6th annual Thrills on Third event happening throughout the historic Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, October 28. The fun filled day begins at 9am where there will be plenty of family friendly activities.
Head over to the Artists Guild from 9-11am where they will be hosting a FREE pumpkin painting activity. Kids are welcome to paint and decorate pumpkins on a first-come, first-served basis. Two hundred small-medium pumpkins are provided by Artists Guild and Bordeau Farms. Participants are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate to Lakeshore CAP. The decorated pumpkins will be placed along the parade route until 3pm.
Get your hands dirty in an ooey gooey slime making session at the Door County Library any time from 9am-12pm. Don’t forget to make your way to the Boys & Girls Club of Door County to walk through their spine-chilling haunted house. After you experience the haunted house, take part in the “Lights on After School” activities as part of the Boys & Girls Club. There will be six different stations of activities highlighting various programs, which are: academics, workforce development, food program, healthy lifestyles, mentoring, and arts program. Activities will include a photo booth, coloring, ring toss, and much more! The Boys & Girls Club will be open from 10am-1pm.
Parade participants should gather at Martin Park, 207 S. Third Avenue, at 12:45pm for costume judging. The costume parade is open to all, including pets! Floats are not permitted. At 1pm, all participants will march down Third Avenue to the clock tower at the corner of Third and Kentucky. Mayor Birmingham will then announce costume winners. After the parade, participants are encouraged to walk back along Third Avenue to take part in trick-or-treating at participating businesses until 3pm.
